It finally happened! I was so busy with work the last couple of months that the new year crept up on me, and suddenly I was on a plane (and then a bus, and then another bus, and then a car) heading to my art residency in Ballyvaughan, Ireland.
There has been so much to see and do since arriving here, with orientation activities and getting to know the surroundings, and there’s still much more to come. For now all I can say is that I am feeling extremely grateful and very blessed, and am looking forward to making the absolute most of my time in this beautiful place.

Introducing: miss wu-way
When I created the music & video from my last post, I reflected on how different the process of electronic production was from the usual composing & performing/recording that I’m used to. On one hand the physicality of practicing something to be presented live in one go was totally absent, but at the same time it opened up the possibilities of adding sounds from instruments I don’t have access to like drums or synths. Plus, I realized—now the final audio is of a quality that’s suitable for streaming platforms!

So I chose an artist name, “miss wu-way,” in reference to Wu Wei (无为), which was the first concept of Taoism that really resonated with me and drew me to further explore Taoism when I first learned about it during my undergraduate studies. And after figuring out the less fun aspects of distributing music online, I finally did it, right before the new year! A new song, “Magic,” and the last one “404 not found” are both now on all streaming platforms, like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. 🥳
Please give them a stream! You can find links to both songs and my artist IG here: linktr.ee/misswuway
Next up will be updates on my work in the studio! 😁
